Following the instruction from central government of Viet Nam on re-arranging state own company, encouraging private participation, socializing some sectors and at the same time, calling from some important ODA donors such as ADB, WB, for joining of private sector in water work, Binh Duong Water Supply Sewerage Environment Co., Ltd (BIWASE) asked Binh Duong PPC to establish a join stock company to solve capital needs and timely construct one new water supply plant named Di An 2 Water Treatment Plant to deal with issue of over 50% capacity of Di An 1 Water Treatment plant.

This is a significant effort from the Employer as it only took more than 10 months to complete the project from the policy approval date given by Binh Duong People’s Committee, of which over 7 months for construction period. Now, Di An 2 Water Treatment Plant, 50,000m3/day capacity can be operated. Its total investment cost is over 440 billions dong. This is an evidence for BIWASE efforts and valuable assistance from leadership of BD province, reliable capacity of the contractor, particularly mental support from inhabitants living nearby the project area and help from people in Di An 1 WTP.

A formal inauguration ceremony of Di An 2 Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 50,000m3/day x 2 ( 50,000m3 for each phase) and introduction of Thu Dau Mot Join Stock Company is going to be held on the coming September 20th, 2014, marking a change in accordance with renewing task of Viet Namese Government.

The project will increase water production capacity for BIWASE also and will improve water pressure in network to meet increasing demand on clean water. Overall, the project helps to carry out the national goal on clean water, to improve living condition and gradually limit the exploitation of underground water for future reservation.
