Inaururation ceremony: South Binh Duong waste treatment complex
On September 20, Binh Duong Environmental Water Supply and Sewerage Company (Biwase) officially held the inauguration ceremony of Nam Binh Duong waste treatment plant with an area of 74 hectares in Chanh Phu Hoa commune, Ben Cat district (Binh Duong province).

Attending were Mr. Kimmo Lahdevirta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland in Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Construction Cao Lai Quang, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen; On the side of provincial leaders, there were Mr. Nguyen Minh Giao, Standing Member of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Propaganda Department; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thi Kim Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem and great leaders of departments and branches.
This project is invested by Biwase, phase 1 of the project has a total investment of 480 billion VND, of which is funded by the Finnish Government 184 billion VND and 196 billion VND from the state budget. After being put into operation, this project will recycle domestic waste with a capacity of 420 tons of compost/day; every hour can treat 960m³ leachate, 300 kg of medical waste and treat about 150 tons of hazardous waste. The entire line is the most advanced technology currently imported from Europe.
Currently, the whole province of Binh Duong has more than 10,000 operating businesses, so the demand for industrial waste collection increases rapidly. On average, the complex receives 700 tons of garbage per day, and over 100 tons of industrial waste. In addition to fertilizer products, sewage sludge is also used to produce pavement bricks and construction tynel bricks. The heat source for burning bricks is taken from the collection of gas from the landfill...
In the second phase, the project will be expanded with a scale of 8.1 million euros, of which the Finnish government's ODA loan is 5.6 million euros, the counterpart capital is nearly 2.5 million euros to be implemented in 2 years 2013-2014.
