BIWASE’S School Education Programme

With approval by Binh Duong PPC, BIWASE co-operates with Department of Binh Duong Education and Training to carry out a pilot school education programme for fourth and fifth graders in order to improve awareness on environmental and water source protection as well as improve public’s health. It is considered an extracurricular educational program to provide more practical knowledge on value of water and impacts of polluted water.

School year 2012 – 2013 is the first one in which BIWASE held a school education programe for fifth graders. All expense and activities related to this programe were funded and carried out by BIWASE, such as making plan, teaching, travelling, study tour etc….

Through visiting water treatment plant, getting to know about water treatment process, these pupils were provided more understanding on water importance, how to protect water source from pullution, benefit of clean water ect…Beside that, using water in an economic way, community games, drawing picture with environmental topics ect… were alsoactively practised.

Results from pilot education programe carried out from December 2012 to May 2013 are follows: there were 09 study tours to Di An and Tan Hiep water treatment plants with participation of 1,139 fifth graders from 5 schools. They comprise:

- Hiep Thanh Primary School – Thu Dau Mot city
- Le Quy DonPrimary School – Di An town
- My Phuoc Primary School – Ben Cat district
- PhuocVinh A Primary School – Phu Giao district
- Nguyen Du Primary School – Dau Tieng district

This programe wil be continued being carried out in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An, Di An and Ben Cat districts in the school year 2013-2014.
