"Solution to reduce non revenue water loss in Binh Duong Water - Environment Joint Stock Company", referred to as Biwase by author Nguyen Van Thien, President of the Board of Directors, has excellently overcome 60 bright solutions & innovation in many industries and fields of science. He achieves the first place of the 8^th Binh Duong Province's Technological Innovation Contest in 2017-2019 by the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Binh Duong Province, in coordination with professional departments, institutes and universities in the southern region.

Since 1996, Biwase has been assigned by Song Be Provincial People's Committee to provide clean water to serve the province's socio-economic development tasks in difficult economic and technical conditions. Biwase, headed by Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, boldly combined "Development of new pipelines with gradual replacement of old pipelines" which are too old and weak. These old pipeline system has no management maps and often fail due to asynchronous and of course cause massive water loss.

"if we let big losses last long while in poor situation, we cannot go up." From that determination, Biwase persistently follows its goal "Investment in water supply and drainage infrastructure must be long-term with a vision of 30 to 50 years". In addition, it thanks to combination of constantly expanding cooperation, learning experiences & achievements from developed countries and applying advanced scientific and technical achievements in management, operation and training of human resources according to direction of autonomy.

Biwase's current rate of water loss is below 6%, leader in the country. "Biwase's rate of water loss is a very important achievement of Vietnam's water supply industry" evaluated by experts and managers of the leading national and international water utilities. A comparison shows that "Biwase's water loss rate is now leading in the region and better than Japan of 7%".

Sharing the joy of receiving the award, Mr. Thien said: “Reduction of water loss contributes significantly to the goal of saving natural resources and reducing costs for customers who are residents and businesses in Binh province. This helps to increase profits for the company and stable income for employees”.

In addition to the champion at the contest, Biwase also received many other important awards such as: "Network management and management solution" - Second prize by Do Huu Hau; Solutions to optimize the ASBR tank treatment cycle, save energy, reduce odors in wastewater treatment ”by Tran Thanh Toan, Tran Thanh Duy; "Fabrication and sorting 2 frequencies 1 grid layer in sorting, waste treatment" by Mai Van Hoang, Truong Tan Thuan.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngan, Permanent Vice Chairman of Union of Science and Technology Association of Binh Duong Province, Head of the Organization Board of the Competition said: After 2 years of launching, the Organizing Committee has received 60 above-mentioned technical solutions in many areas. As a result, 32 solutions won. Innovations and creative solutions in competitions in many fields are highly applicable, wide, easy, low cost which meet practical needs in life and production and help to improve the quality of life. It contributes to the sustainable development of the community and the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province, to implement Industrialization - Modernization.
