Vaccination against Covid-19 for waste collection and treatment workers

(BDO) On the afternoon of June 24, Mr. Ngo Chi Thang, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Waste Treatment Branch, said that 280 employees regularly interact with customers and workers who directly collect and treat domestic waste has been vaccinated against Covid-19 by the health sector.

This is the priority group of more than 900 officers, employees and workers at the branch who received the first vaccination. These are employees who directly collect waste at concentrated isolation areas, isolation areas, medical isolation and areas where cases of Covid-19 are recorded. Vaccination contributes to protecting the health of workers as well as limiting the risk of infection in the community during waste collection and treatment.

Up to now, the disease situation related to 5 cases of F0 who are employees of Binh Duong Waste Treatment Branch has been well controlled, no more cases of Covid-19 have been recorded here. Particularly, 8 other cases of the disease are family members of 5 infected employees, all of whom are currently being treated in isolation. In addition, there are 38 F1 cases of close contact with infected employees who are performing concentrated isolation and 142 F2 cases are currently being isolated at home according to regulations.

The provincial Center for Disease Control took samples for 912 employees of the Waste Treatment Branch, and the results were 100% negative. In order not to have a backlog of waste, Binh Duong Waste Treatment Branch proactively organized 600 employees with negative test results to stay at work to avoid being affected by the epidemic situation. complicated developments; at the same time, ensure the collection, transportation and treatment of about 2,100 tons of domestic waste every day in the locality.
