Vice Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Government of the kingdom of the Netherlands visited Tan Uyen Waste Water Treatment Plant 1
On April 12, Mr. Roald Lapperre, Vice Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management - Mr. Carel Richter, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of Dutch businesses and entrepreneurs visited Tan Uyen wastewater treatment plant 1, in Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen town. Representatives of the provincial People's Committee included Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan - Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Affairs and the representative of the project employer - Mr. Tran Chien Cong - General Director of Binh Duong Water Environment Joint Stock Company (BIWASE) welcomed and worked with the delegation.
The delegation discussed the progress of using loans, plant construction, operational performance, responsibility to pay capital according to commitments and the benefits of the project to the community and the environment, etc. With respect to the visit, Mr. Tran Chien Cong shared that the policy of Binh Duong province will continue to assign Biwase for development of wastewater treatment plant in Ben Cat Town to contribute to protection of upstream water sources, improve the quality of life and public health. At present, Biwase has transformed into a joint stock company so it is very difficult to gain ODA for development of infrastructure and environment projects. The company hopes that the delegation will have a solution to submit to the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to continue their support to our future the projects in the province.
Mr. Roald Lapperre, Vice Minister of the Infrastructure and Water Management, is pleased to announce "the policy about continuing cooperation and support for Vietnam has been agreed by the Prime Ministers of the two countries so it will be very convenient to process further steps. The mission highly appreciated the effectiveness of the project and the benefits it brought to the community, society and living environment. It would also be convenient for BIWASE to find a solution to gain the fund for continuing projects in Binh Duong province ”.
